The Piano and Its Perspectives is a program of the School of Music, Digital Department and Cultural Office of the Federal University of Goiás, Mississippi State University and Universidad del Atlántico - Colombia, with support from the Foundation for Science and Technology of Portugal, Center for Studies in Sociology and Musical Aesthetics of the New University of Lisbon, Center for Brazilian Studies, Rádio Universitária and Rádio Brasil Central FM. Andréa Luísa Teixeira (coordination), Pablo Lisboa, Rosângela Yazbec Sebba and Yamira Rodriguez Núñez are part of the program's team. The proposal is to bring to all those interested issues related to the importance of music and its role in society.

Our guests are Jessica Koebbe, Gina Hart-Kemper and David Córdoba. Pianist Dr. Jessica Koebbe is active as a performer, clinician, and educator. She enjoys performing music of all genres, but especially enjoys championing lesser-known works by historically excluded composers. Her love of music and travel has resulted in opportunities to work and perform throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, France, and Germany. Dr. Koebbe has presented at several international, national and state conferences including Sigma Alpha Iota’s national convention (2022), the International Keyboard Collaborative Arts Society’s international conference (2021 and 2022), New York State Music Teachers Association (2021), West Virginia Music Educators Association state conference (2022), and the National Association for Music Education’s joint summer 2021 conference. She was also invited to present at the Conservatorio de Musica de Puerto Rico in San Juan.In addition to her Music Performance Anxiety work, she is Adjunct Instructor of Music in Keyboard Arts at William Jewell College. She has previously served on the keyboard faculty at Texas Wesleyan University, MidAmerica Nazarene University, and Kansas State University.As the director of the Puerto Rico Center for Collaborative Piano, she and the PRCCP team provides opportunities for professional, student, and amateur pianists to learn from some of the world’s leading collaborative pianists and chamber musicians in a beautiful tropical island setting. She holds degrees in piano performance, receiving her DMA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance, her Master of Music from Texas Christian University, and her Bachelor of Music from the University of Kansas (summa cum laude).

Gina Hart-Kemper performs and teaches in the Kansas City metro area. A graduate of Wichita State University, Gina continued her education earning the Master of Music and Doctoral of Musical Arts degrees at The University of Michigan. She has performed with orchestras, chamber groups, and collaborative flute recitals, and has been a guest artist and teacher at concerts, schools, and festivals nationally and internationally. Currently, she is an instructor of flute and music classes at Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas. Gina is also the Music Director for the Kansas City Flute Choir, and she also serves on the board of the Village Music Academy in Prairie Village where she continues to teach flute lessons. Gina also keeps busy with the Puerto Rico Collaborative Piano Center, performing and promoting underrepresented composers’ works through concerts and recordings, and also serves as the competition coordinator.  Her passion and energy for sharing music and education has kept her in demand as a performer and teacher with students, teachers, and music enthusiasts wherever she has traveled.

Recognized for his colorful and sensitive performances the Colombian pianist David Córdoba enjoys a career as a performer, teacher, and chamber music advocate. Highlight performances include a recital with Vincent Lucas (Principal Flutist – Orchestre de Paris) and the opening of the 2021 season of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. Recently, he joined the Puerto Rico Center for Collaborative Piano (PRCCP), an organization that seeks to advance historically excluded voices in the classical music scene.
