Professor Hunter Farley is a distinguished tubist and educator with a diverse and accomplished career in music. A passionate chamber musician and educator, Hunter comes from Boston where he served as the Director of Athletic Bands at Bentley University and as a Professor of Tuba and Euphonium at Brandeis University. Additionally, Hunter taught a thriving private lesson studio through the Hopkinton and Lexington School Districts, nurturing the next generation of low brass players.
Hunter has had the opportunity to perform with many notable ensembles including the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Lexington Symphony, Cape Ann Symphony, and also served as the Principal Tubist of the Du Bois Symphony. He is also a co-founder of the 855 Brass Quintet, a prominent Boston-based freelance Brass Quintet known for its energetic and intriguing performances.
Hunter completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Memphis and earned a Master’s degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Currently, he is in the final stages of a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Boston University, anticipated to be completed in May 2025. Hunter’s principal teachers include Mike Roylance, Gene Pokorny, Matt Gaunt, and Dr. Kevin Sanders.
