Jillian Ochsendorf is an active teacher, performer, and researcher. In addition to teaching an Introduction to Listening course at the University of Alabama, she also gives private lessons and presents masterclasses from the middle school to collegiate level. She has participated in numerous music festivals and was a semi-finalist in the 2022 Southeast Trombone Symposium’s S.E. Shires Solo Competition. She has performed with the Starkville Symphony Orchestra, Theatre Tuscaloosa, the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, the Brass Band of the Western Reserve, and numerous other orchestral and chamber ensembles.

Jillian is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts in Trombone Performance at the University of Alabama and holds degrees from the University of Nevada, Reno and Capital University. Her primary trombone teachers have included Jon Whitaker, James Albrecht, and Thomas Zugger.
