Música de Salón in Costa Rica

FREE
Dr. Sara Violeta Miranda-Terrero, violin
After editing and analyzing manuscripts of chamber music for violin and piano composed in Costa Rica during the 20th century, a new perspective emerged of its pedagogical utility for young musicians as the music is also brought into the current musical scene after being unedited for several years. The recital will include pieces by José Castro Carazo: Arlequín, Ismael Cardona: Canción de cuna, Julio Mata: Valsete Flora, and Julio Fonsecal Vals Romántico. Throughout the recital there will be short interventions to learn about their pedagogical use and historical importance.
